G4 green chilli to Dubai: how we packed and shipped 1,500 kg by air

A short account of our October 2026 air consignment of fresh G4 green chilli: what was shipped, how it was sorted and packed, and what a buyer should ask any chilli exporter.

In October 2026 we shipped 1,500 kg of fresh G4 green chilli from India to Dubai by air. It left on 16 October, reached Dubai the next day, cleared the same day and sold out at Al Aweer market within a day. This is how the consignment was put together, and what a buyer can ask any chilli exporter.

The consignment at a glance

  • Product: G4 green chilli, fresh
  • Quantity: 1,500 kg, 500 bags of 3 kg
  • Origin: Maharashtra, India
  • Packing: breathable green mesh bags, each labelled
  • Mode: air freight, about 5 hours in the air
  • Dispatched: 16 October 2026; arrived: 17 October 2026

How we prepared it

  1. Sourced early. Fresh G4 arrives at the market hall before sunrise.
  2. Sorted by hand. Each lot is checked for colour, size and freshness. Rejects are removed before anything is weighed.

  1. Labelled. Every bag carries a label, so each lot can be traced.
  2. Loaded before sunrise. Out of the heat, then on to air freight.

Registrations and paperwork

Fresh produce leaves India with a phytosanitary certificate for each consignment, a commercial invoice, a packing list and an air waybill, with the shipping bill filed through the exporter's ICEGATE login. The importer arranges the permits and registrations on the Dubai side.

On our side, the APEDA RCMC (RCMC/APEDA/35602/2026-2027, issued 10 October 2026) and the FIEO RCMC (RCMC/FIEO/19186/2026-2027, issued 11 October 2026) were both in place before the 16 October dispatch. We also hold FSSAI Central Licence No. 12726999000827, issued on 20 October 2026. Scans are on our certifications page.

What to ask a G4 chilli exporter

  • Where is the chilli sourced, and how is each lot graded?
  • What is the pack size, and is every bag labelled?
  • Which documents come with each consignment?
  • How is the product loaded, and how long is it in transit?
  • Can you share photos or video of the packing and loading?

Air or container?

We sent this lot by air because the quantity was small and speed mattered. Larger volumes normally go by container, packed in cartons instead of mesh bags. We explain both in Air freight or container: how we pack and ship fresh green chilli.
